Basware Corporation has agreed on the acquisition of the entire share capital of Contempus AS from Affecto. Contempus provides Purchase to Pay as well as Enterprise Content Management solutions. The fixed acquisition price amounts to NOK 70 (approximately EUR 8.7) million and additional price NOK 15 (EUR 1.8) million at maximum. Both fixed and additional price will be paid in cash on the closing date. Basware finances the acquisition with a bank loan. The acquisition is subject to the approval of the Norwegian competition authorities and the transaction is expected to be closed in 2008, after the necessary approvals from authorities have been received. Waterloo, Ontario and Bellevue, Washington - September 2008 - Open Text™ Corporation, a global Enterprise Content Management (ECM) organisation, and Captaris, Inc., a provider of software products that automate document-centric processes, have announced a definitive merger agreement in which a wholly owned subsidiary of Open Text will acquire Captaris. Under the terms of the agreement, Captaris shareholders will receive cash consideration of approximately US $131 million in total, or $4.80 per share in exchange for their Captaris stock. The companies expect the transaction to close by the end of the calendar year, subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by Captaris’s shareholders and anti-trust approvals. . Aconex secures AU$107.5 million growth financing deal
Aconex, one of the fastest growing Australian IT companies, has secured private equity funding of AUD$107.5M from leading US-based technology investor Francisco Partners, to expand worldwide growth of its web based document management and collaborative software solutions for the engineering and construction industries. The deal represents one of the largest ever private equity capital raisings by an Australian technology firm. Aconex will allocate this round of funding primarily into product development, acquisitions that broaden the company’s geographic reach and product suite, and entry into new markets. The investment in product development will see the creation of around 50 new positions within the company’s software engineering team. Read More

Palo Alto, California, September 2008 – Tibco Software Inc. has announced results for its third quarter, which ended on August 31, 2008. Total revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2008 was $162.3 million and net income was $11.1 million, or $0.06 per diluted share. This compares to total revenue of $135.1 million and net income of $4.6 million, or $0.02 per diluted share, as reported for the third quarter of fiscal 2007. Logica expands its operations in India
Chennai, India - September 2008 - Logica has strengthened its operations in India with the inauguration of its new facility in Chennai, the second centre in India. The facility inaugurated by Andy Green, Global Chief Executive, Logica, and Logica’s Executive Committee, is spread across 120,000 sq ft with the capacity for 1,500 employees. The company has earmarked an investment of around £8 million to accelerate blended delivery and grow its offshore and nearshore centres. It plans to have 8,000 employees in these centres by the end of 2009.

Beginning October 1, 2008, U.S.-based subsidiaries Fujitsu Consulting Holdings, Inc., Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation and Fujitsu Transactions Solutions Inc. will be brought together under a newly established company, Fujitsu North America Holdings, Inc. The integration of the system platform and services businesses will create new synergies to enhance Fujitsu’s solutions business in the region.
